Mountain meadow setting
Open grass clearing ringed by hardwood timber — deer and wild turkeys on the edges, stars when the clouds lift.

Wake to meadow light and birdcall, watch deer and wild turkeys move through the timber, and be on the Doe, the Watauga, or a cold mountain creek in about five minutes. Misty Hollow is your quiet basecamp for East Tennessee’s finest trout water and the high balds of the Roan Highlands — two private cabins you can book together or separately.

Bring the holler →We’ve made Misty Hollow home: two private log cabins tucked into a wooded hollow on Roan Mountain, ringed by open meadow, a creek-side path with string lights, and the kind of quiet that makes porch coffee last longer than it should. Book one cabin or both.
One cabin opens onto a wide deck with grill, hot tub, and hammock under the trees. The other greets you with a stone path, covered porch swing, and forested hillside. Inside: soaring wood ceilings, stone fireplace, full kitchens, loft sleeping, and a clawfoot tub for after the trail.
The two cabins are Bear and Creek Cabin. Reserve them together or separately — same meadow and creek path either way.
Bear opens onto a covered deck with outdoor dining, grill, hammock, and hot tub under the hardwoods. Inside: soaring wood ceilings, stone fireplace, full kitchen, loft sleeping, and a clawfoot tub after the trail. Double front stairs and porch lights at dusk.
Creek Cabin greets you with a mossy stone path, covered porch swing, and forested hillside. Same Misty Hollow meadow and creek bridge — a second private porch when you book both, or a quiet solo stay of its own.
Real photos from Misty Hollow — both cabins, the creek path, porches, lofts, and the open meadow. Captions note Bear or Creek Cabin when it matters.

A wooden bridge over the hollow creek leads toward the meadow gate — moss, ferns, and evening lights along the rail.
Misty Hollow sits on Roan Mountain — far enough from town for true quiet, close enough that trout water, groceries, and a covered-bridge dinner in Elizabethton are easy day pieces.
Green dates are open. This calendar is built to sync with Airbnb & VRBO via iCal so what you see matches real bookings.
